More on the TGI TOWN HALL:
This town hall is designed to inform community members about the TGI Needs Assessment motion and to elicit feedback on:
1) ensuring the equitable distribution of American Rescue Plan Act funds and services to TGI communities
2) improving, as needed, the County’s COVID-19 Vulnerability and Recovery Index Dashboard and Equity Explorer Mapping Tool to be inclusive of and reflect TGI communities
3) recommended strategies to engage and gather input on the motion directives.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors passed a wide-ranging motion on November 22, 2022, to address inequities faced by TGI people. The motion directed the Chief Executive Officer to convene several County entities and community stakeholders representative of the County’s diverse LGBTQ+ communities to report back on:
- Gathering data, standard metrics, reporting, policy, and program changes that enable the County to better serve TGI communities
- Improving data collection on the equitable distribution of American Rescue Plan Act funds and services to TGI-serving groups
- Improving, as needed, the County’s COVID-19 Vulnerability and Recovery Index Dashboard and Equity Explorer Mapping Tool
- Assessment on critical gaps in services and recommendations on priority strategies for improving and expanding programs and services for TGI individuals
- How the County can develop a permanent, integrated TGI population strategy, including structural ways to better coordinate County services
- An analysis of potential funding streams to increase County resources for TGI individuals
Please see the full motion here.
